Before We Arrive: Quick Checks
No Heat
- Make sure the thermostat is set to heat and set above room temperature, and that its batteries aren’t dead.
- Check that the furnace breaker is on and the furnace switch (it looks like a light switch) is on.
- Replace a clogged air filter. A dirty filter can make the furnace overheat and shut off.
- If you smell gas, don’t touch anything. Leave and call PG&E or 911.
No Cooling
- Make sure the thermostat is set to cool and below room temperature.
- Check the breakers for both the indoor unit and the outdoor unit.
- Replace a clogged air filter and make sure supply vents aren’t blocked.
- If you see ice on the refrigerant lines or indoor coil, turn the system off so it can thaw, and call us.
